2003

The Insulsteel Factory concept evolved from the Island Design and Architectural Center (IDAC), founded in Sea Island, GA in 2003.

2004

Amerisips, founded in 2004, evolved from the IDAC. Our company is a totally integrated “one stop shop” for providing design, building product distribution and construction for “Free Energy Living®” buildings.

2011

Amerisips Homes, moved to Charleston, SC in 2011 and entered the energy-efficient custom home market.

2014

Amerisips was recognized by the U.S. Department of Energy as a national winner of the DOE’s home innovation award for custom home builders in the USA.

As a DOE partner, Amerisips is ranked in the top 1% of the home builders in the U.S. Additionally, the U.S. Green Building Council® named Amerisips as the 2014 winner for the “Best Small Firm Contractor and Builder” as part of their first annual Best in Building awards.

2016

The core of the Insulsteel building process is mass production of structural steel insulated panels and precision engineered components used in designing, manufacturing, and constructing EcoShell building enclosures. Amerisips’ assets and liabilities were transferred to Insulsteel of South Carolina, LLC effective January 1, 2016.

2017

Insulsteel continues to grow in the Charleston and surrounding Lowcountry areas with its EcoShell Building Enclosure systems.
