Creating the EcoShell

Insulsteel’s state-of-the-art software is used to design the EcoShell exterior and interior spaces to the client’s life style and budget. Once completed the digital design data is fed directly into Insulsteel’s high tec equipment designed to fabricate the EcoShell’s composite light gauge steel and solid core insulation system. Once offsite fabrication and panelization is completed the entire building envelope and interior walls, floors and trusses are transported to the home site Ready To Assemble.  The end results are significantly improved compared to traditional stick built custom homes including; energy costs of $600/yr; no construction waste; engineered to hurricane winds; healthy indoor air quality and no termites.  We start with the best building structure available, steel insulated panels that are stronger, more energy efficient and assembled faster than traditional stick frame construction.

The EcoShell™ is designed and fabricated using composite steel and expanded polystyrene injection molded panels numbered and ready for onsite assembly.  The EcoShell™ “kit of parts” when assembled “onsite” exceeds quality standards prescribed by USGBC LEED Platinum and state and local building codes for high winds, flooding, and seismic activity.

Insulsteel ExoSkeleton™: Recycled steel components (interior walls, floor system, and roof trusses) are manufactured offsite at the new Insulsteel LGS factory.  The entire building is panelized eliminating more than 50% of labor hours and virtually all construction waste.

All Window and door openings, electrical and plumbing chases are cut accurately into the panels at the factory and delivered directly to the job site.

Your Zero Energy Design home will be assembled or “framed” and dried-in just a few days.

Steel insulated panels are tested and proven to perform at 2 to 3 times stronger than stick framing and can be built to withstand winds up to 200 MPH.
